Get answers to common questions about IPL Photofacial.

IPL delivers broad-spectrum light absorbed by brown and red pigments, heating and breaking them down. The body gradually clears the treated pigment while collagen stimulation improves texture over several weeks.

There is minimal downtime. Most patients experience mild redness or warmth immediately after treatment that subsides within hours to a day. Normal activities can usually be resumed the same day.

Most clients benefit from a series of 3–6 treatments spaced about 4–6 weeks apart. Visible improvement often appears after the first session, with best results after completing the recommended series.

Common treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, and hands. Other sun-damaged or vascular areas can be treated as well; your provider will recommend the best plan for each area.

IPL is generally safest for lighter skin tones. Darker skin types require careful assessment and sometimes alternative treatments to reduce pigment risk. We perform consultations and test spots to ensure safety.

During treatment you may feel quick, warm pulses; sessions typically last 15–45 minutes depending on area. Afterward expect mild redness and possible temporary darkening of spots that flake away over days to weeks.
