Vivace RF aftercare: After Your Acne Treatment with Vivace RF (7‑Day Care Plan)
By AZ Laser RX | August 23, 2026
I’ll give you the single rule that protects your results most: for the first 48 to 72 hours, keep your skin clean, hydrated, and out of heat, sweat, and sun. A long-time client told us she gets “real results” with our precise treatment plans and recommendations, and aftercare is a big part of why those results hold. In Scottsdale, our sun and heat make this especially important, even if you feel like you have “very little downtime.”
First 24–48 hours: the do’s and don’ts that prevent irritation fast
Vivace microneedling is a form of RF microneedling that combines microneedling with radiofrequency to help clear pores and support smoother texture. Right after treatment, your skin is doing active repair. That means your goal is simple: don’t inflame it.
My quick checklist for the first day
- Hands off. No picking, rubbing, or leaning your face into your hands.
- Gentle cleanse only. Use a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Pat dry.
- Skip makeup. I generally recommend no makeup for at least 24 hours so the micro-channels can calm down.
- Avoid heat and sweat. No hard workouts, saunas, hot yoga, hot tubs, or long outdoor exposure.
Redness is common right after microneedling, and you can also see a little pinpoint bleeding immediately post treatment. That usually settles quickly. Mild dryness can show up over the next 1 to 3 days, which lines up with what we see most often with Vivace RF acne recovery.
If you live near Grayhawk or McDowell Mountain Ranch, plan your day like this: I prefer you schedule an early-morning or late-afternoon visit, then skip the post-treatment hike, range session, or a full round of golf until your skin has cooled down and settled.
Days 3–7: how I keep Scottsdale sun and sweat from stealing your results
This is the week people mess up by feeling “fine” and going back to active products too soon. Give your skin a full week before you bring back stronger exfoliants and acne actives. It’s one of the simplest ways to protect the clearer-skin payoff you’re here for.
For 7 days, I usually have you avoid: retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, scrubs, exfoliating brushes, harsh acne spot treatments, and anything that stings when you apply it.
Sun protection is non-negotiable in Scottsdale. Direct midday sun can turn a calm recovery into lingering redness. Once your skin is no longer open or irritated, start SPF 30+ daily. I also love physical protection: a real hat, not a visor. If you’re out in Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Carefree, or Cave Creek a lot, treat SPF like brushing your teeth. It’s just part of the routine.
And yes, sweat matters. Sweat plus friction can trigger irritation and little bumps. For the first 48 to 72 hours, keep workouts light. After that, ease back in, rinse your face gently after you sweat, and don’t leave salty sweat sitting on the skin.
The simple product routine I recommend after RF microneedling
You don’t need a cabinet full of products after Vivace. You need a calm routine that supports your barrier so your skin can do its job.
Stick with: a gentle cleanser, a bland moisturizer, and hydration support like hyaluronic acid if I’ve told you it’s a good fit for your skin.
Pause: anything “active” that peels, tingles, or dries you out while you’re in that 1 to 3-day mild dryness window.
If you were given a prescribed topical medication, follow that exactly. If something feels unexpectedly spicy or your skin looks angrier after a product, stop it and let me know. I’d rather adjust early than have you power through irritation.
People often find us online searching “med spa near me” because they want results without a complicated routine. That’s also why I talk about other services only when they make sense for your goals, like an IPL photofacial for redness, skin resurfacing for texture, or skin tightening and body contouring treatments like emsculpt when acne isn’t the only thing on your list. The point is focus. Your aftercare should feel doable.
When I want you to reach out (and when it’s just normal healing)
A little redness, warmth, and mild dryness tend to be normal after microneedling RF aftercare starts. What I don’t want is a pattern that gets worse instead of better.
- Reach out the same day if you have increasing pain, spreading redness, or swelling that keeps ramping up.
- Reach out urgently if you notice pus, fever, or anything that feels like infection.
- Reach out if healing stalls and you’re not trending calmer after the expected timeline.
"Immediately, I felt this was the place to help since the Staff was so warm and friendly and eager to help me."
one of our regulars
That’s exactly how I want you to feel with us in North Scottsdale, near Grayhawk and McDowell Mountain Ranch. If you have a question at 7 p.m. because your skin looks a little different than you expected, don’t sit and stress. Call or email. I’ll talk you through what’s normal, what to adjust, and when I want to see you back in.
If you’re planning a series, it helps to understand the bigger picture. I wrote a separate guide on benefits of Vivace RF for acne so you know what builds over time and what tends to show up sooner.
Quick reminders before you head out the door
For the first 48 to 72 hours: gentle cleanse, no makeup, no sweating, no pools or spas, and no direct sun.
If you’re unsure about a product, a workout, or a weekend outdoors in the desert heat, ask me first. Protecting your result is part of the service.
